A very illustrative ans illuminating book on pirates. A fair bit of history thrown in!
Startling facts:
(1) The cities situated along the shores of North Africa ( Tunis, Algiers) are all once pirate havens.
Just like Hong Kong,and the Bermudas!
(2) Where gold and silver is found, the pirates are sure to follow.
(3) History books are written by the victors. If you are from the English speaking world, you would remember Sir Francis Drake as someone who took off his cloak to let a Lady go over a puddle of water. He was in fact, a privateer! ( a "pirate" working on the orders of the English courts to plunder ships of the enemy...namely The French and the Spanish!)
(4) Pirates existed as long as there were trading. Just like the pirates of the cyber and digital world today!
