Swing Trading

How You Can Get Rich from Swing Trading

The golden Rules in Swing Trading :

(1) Identify Pivots
(2) Buy retracements in Uptrends
(3) Sell Rallies in Downtrends

Simple. Yet Powerful .

Just like the other Golden Rules of Trading .
(1) Cut your Losses
(2) Let your Profit Run

Or George Soros' rule :
.. it is how much you win when you win, and how little you lose when you lose.

Or ..
Identify the Trend ( Up, Down Sideways)
Identify the Stage ( Early, Mid, Late)
Apply the Suitable Strategy ( Entry & Exit, Position Size, Trail, Add, Reversal)

Here is my summary...

Kuasa Minda _ Separa Sedar ( Power of the Subconscious Mind)

This is a Malay Language book that touches on :
(1) Subconscious Mind
(2) Yogic breathing
(3) Telekinetics
(4) Chakras

I am very intrigued with the Mind Revs :
(1) beta : 14-30 rounds per second
(2) alpha : 8-12 r/sec
(3) theta : 4-7 r/sec
(4) delta : 1-3 r/sec

Conscious mind runs at beta level, using the 5 senses. Type 1 thinking. Reason.

When we slow down our minds ( just before sleep stage ) , we are running at alpha level. This is where we use our 6th sense. Type 2 thinking. Intuition. Automatic.

Spiritual persons with deep practice can reach theta level, perhaps reaching affinity with the Creator.

When we are asleep, we run at delta level. Here, repair and rejuvenation occurs. REM also happens at blocks 0f 90 minutes. When we do not get enough sleep ( minimum 5 blocks of 90 minutes ie 7 1/2 hours) , we feel groggy the next day.

Autosuggestions , affirmations can be made  just before we sleep ( from Theta to delta). The subconscious is an efficient and powerful machine but it cannot make the differentiation between bad and good. Only the conscious mind can discern. Hence the principle of GIGO comes in . Feed garbage into your subconscious mind, garbage will come out ( Garbage In , Garbage Out). Feed good stuff in, good stuff will come out!

Secrets of Winning Forex Strategies

 forexstrategies

This book is written in very simple to understand language.

Basically, it is the identification of the CURRENT TREND ( Up, Down , Sideways) and the Stage thatthe trend is in ( Early, Mid , Late ).

After identifying the Trend and the Stage, then only should the trader choose the appropriate Strategy to apply.

Setups are important.... And a trading plan must be in place before any trades are taken.

Take away :
(1) Newbies are like the 3 blind men trying to describe the elephant
(2) The identification of the Current Trend and its Stages is like looking out at the sky to "predict" the weather. You would definitely not do a house spring cleaning if you see dark clouds and lightning. You would wait for a bright ans shining day instead! Likewise, choosing an appropriate strategy to fit an identified Trend is of paramount importance!

Pirates of the SevenSeas

A very illustrative ans illuminating book on pirates. A fair bit of history thrown in!

Startling facts:

(1) The cities situated along the shores of North Africa ( Tunis, Algiers) are all once  pirate havens.
Just like Hong Kong, and the Bermudas!

(2) Where gold and silver is found, the pirates are sure to follow.

(3) History books are written by the victors. If you are from the English speaking world, you would remember Sir Francis Drake as someone who took off his cloak to let a Lady go over a puddle of water. He was in fact, a privateer! ( a "pirate" working on the orders of the English courts to plunder ships of the enemy...namely The French and the Spanish!)

(4) Pirates existed as long as there were trading. Just like the pirates of the cyber and digital world today!

Buy High Sell Higher

Finally, someone has the guts to say that " Buy and Hold" is dead...

This is where the Great Schism comes in : Traders vs Investors.

If you like Turtles, Daryl Guppy, Van Tharp... then you will love this book.
On the other hand, if you are sold on Value Investing, Graham, Buffett... then you will probably find this book sacrilegious!

A few great ideas to take home :
